12 boats from YRYC traveled to Irvington to the annual Turkey Shoot Regatta held October 4-6, 2019.  5 out of the 12 boats registered to race.   

Clouds, brisk winds (gusts up to 20 knots!) and a bit of chop (2-3 feet swells) to navigate, it was quite a weekend!   There was lots of excitement that included collisions, 2 de-mastings, and at least one MOB (not to mention the incident involving a pontoon boat and Chuck’s dinghy).   It proved to be an exciting and challenging two days of racing, even to the best sailors.   

But the most exciting news of all is our own Dolcefariente placed first overall in this year’s Turkey Shoot Regatta.  So be sure to give Chuck your congratulations when you see him.

• Manitou IV (Jim and Laura) – 2nd Place for Division 2
• Elixir (Joran and Lin) – 3rd Place for Division 5
• Tigger (Pat and Nancy) – 5th Place for Division 6
• Camdem (Larry and Maureen) – 6th Place for Division 2

YRYC tied for second place for the McConnico Trophy, which is awarded to the yacht club with the top number of division finishes.
